Music
The Aldersgate Music program includes a variety of choirs and ensembles and seeks to develop, in all age groups, a true sense of participation and leadership in worship. Our music is prepared as a loving and sincere offering to God on behalf of a worshiping people. All choirs are open to any person of the appropriate age who desires to participate.
O God, whom saints and angels delight to worship in heaven: Be among us who seek to honor you through art and music. Grant us new glimpses of your beauty in sight and sound and the desire to share your gift with all of the world. Amen.

Sunday School Music
Each Sunday,10:00-10:30a.m.--Our musical journey would not be complete without the loving musical moments for our infants through 5 year olds provided by wonderful volunteers on Sundays in the Noah's Room.
Children's Choirs
Cherub Choir:
Ages 3, 4, and 5 will enjoy a game-like atmosphere of learning songs, playing instruments, hearing Bible stories, and participating in musical activities. (3 year olds need to be 4 by February). Cherubs meet in the Noah's Room. Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 6:30-7:00p.m. (Wednesday supper is available at 5:30p.m.)
Children's Choir:
Singers in 1st through 4th grades whose focus is on developing skills for creative musical expression and spiritual growth, with a blast of fun! Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 6:00-6:45p.m. (Wednesday supper is available at 5:30p.m.)
Club "56" Choir:
5th and 6th graders continuing their musical growth and musical skills with hymns, energetic songs, musicals with drama -- all to make this a great musical time! Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 6:00-6:45p.m. (Wednesday supper is available at 5:30p.m.)
Aldersgate Youth Choir:
The Aldersgate Youth Choir is our musical ensemble for young people, 7th - 12th grade. The choir rehearses Sunday afternoon from 4:45 - 5:45 p.m., followed by a snack supper.
The Youth Choir sings in the worship services about once a month. The highlight of the year is the Spring Musical. We also go to the Springmaid Youth Choir Festival in Myrtle Beach at the end of April. Any youth, 7th-12th grade, can join the Youth Choir. Youth Choir offers an opportunity to strengthen friendships, to grow as Christians, and to make music together, glorifying God through all these things.
Come and learn and share God's blessings!
Adult Choir
Chancel Choir:
This volunteer adult group leads in worship each Sunday. The Chancel Choir is open to all who have a desire to sing and a willingness to learn. Music reading ability is helpful, but certainly not required. Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 7:00-8:15 pm in the Music Center. The Chancel choir sings for both services on the first Sunday of the month, and at 11am for the remaining Sundays.
Handbell Choirs
Youth Handbells:
This group is open to any youth grades 7-12. Music reading ability is necessary, and a commitment to rehearsals/performances is required. The Youth Handbells play "ensemble style" which makes for a challenging, yet rewarding ringing experience. Rehearsals are Mondays from 6-7pm.
Cathedral Handbell Choir:
Experienced handbell ringers are invited to join this group. We perform a variety of music, both with bells alone and in combination with the choirs and instrumental groups. Rehearsals are Mondays from 7-8:15pm in the Music Center.
Instrumental Ensemble
The Aldersgate Instrumental ensemble is a mixed wind/string group made up musicians at every ability level. The Ensemble is truly a multi-generational group. Anyone who plays a band or orchestra instrument is invited to participate. Rehearsals are scheduled Wednesdays, from 6:00-6:45 p.m. The ensemble plays in worship one Sunday each month at both services.
Praise Bands
Uncommon Band:
This group of vocalists and instrumentalists provide our church with contemporary music for special events and contemporary services. Rehearsals are scheduled on an as-needed basis, and are held in the Fellowship Hall.
Youth Praise Band:
Worship is an important aspect of our UMYF on Sunday evenings. The Youth Praise Band leads music at the Sunday evening UMYF gathering and for special youth events and retreats. The group is open to any youth grades 7-12. Guitarists, singers, keyboardists, and percussionists are all needed. Rehearsals are Thursdays from 6-7pm in the Youth House.
